River Plate have confirmed Eduardo Coudet as their new head coach, following the departure of Marcelo Gallardo, the club's most successful manager. "Coudet is confirmed,” River president Stefano Di Carlo told local TV, adding that the Argentine manager would be officially presented on Wednesday.
Eduardo Coudet, 51, has joined River Plate as their new head coach, coming from Spain's Alavés where he previously managed. This isn't Coudet's first time in Argentine football, having led Rosario Central and Racing Club, and he's also had stints in Mexico, Spain, and Brazil.
Coudet takes over from Marcelo Gallardo, who resigned last week after a second spell at River, which lasted a year and a half without any titles. Gallardo is considered the club's most successful manager, and his departure marks a significant change for River.
