Sevilla come back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Real Betis in thrilling LaLiga derby...

Sevilla staged an impressive comeback in the Sevilla derby, snatching a 2-2 draw with Real Betis after trailing 2-0 at half-time. The second-half fightback will give Sevilla hope, but Betis fans will be frustrated after their side had the chance to make it three derby wins in a row.

Real Betis had the fans on their side, with tens of thousands packing the stadium in anticipation of a derby win. The pre-match buzz was electric, with over 20,000 fans attending the opening training session the day before.

The Betis fans were ecstatic as Antony scored a stunning goal just 16 minutes in, living up to the hype of El Gran Derbi. Ez Abde set the play in motion with a clever run down the flank, laying it off to Cucho Hernandez, who unleashed a shot that was blocked.

The rebound fell perfectly for Antony, who unleashed an audacious bicycle kick that left the Sevilla goalkeeper stunned. The goal was a testament to Antony's skill and the electric atmosphere, sending the Betis faithful wild.

Antony’s seventh league goal of the season was followed by a more even period of play - but that was all too fleeting, as the hosts put together an incisive move to double their lead just before half-time.

Once again, Abde was at the heart of the move, playing a perfectly-weighted ball to pick out the run of Alvaro Fidalgo, who flicked the ball home with the outside of his boot, for his first goal since arriving from Club America in the winter window.

Sevilla staged an impressive comeback in the second half, pulling one back just past the hour mark through Alexis Sanchez. The veteran forward made a darting run to meet Oso's whipped cross and sent a diving header out of Alvaro Valles's reach, sparking renewed hope for the away supporters at La Cartuja.

This goal marked a turning point in the match, as Sevilla pushed hard for an equalizer.

And those same fans who resisted the urge to leave at half-time had an equaliser to celebrate in the 85th minute, when Isaac Romero drove a loose ball into the bottom corner after Betis failed to clear their lines from a free-kick

Betis were left reeling after the late equalizer, and they almost snatched a winner in stoppage time - Akor Adams' effort was blocked off the line. Sevilla will take a point from this draw, thanks to Isaac Romero's first league goal since October.

The result moves Sevilla up to 11th, while Betis remain fifth but eight points off the top four.
