Chinese badminton star Shi Yuqi, the World No.1, suffered a stunning first-round defeat at the All England Open, losing to India's Lakshya Sen 21-23, 21-19, 21-17.


Lakshya Sen finally snapped his four-match losing streak against Shi Yuqi, playing a thrilling match that saw him come from behind to claim victory. 




The match lasted one hour and 18 minutes, with momentum often shifting in favor of each of the two players.


With the score tied at 11-11 in the first set, Sen remained aggressive, controlling the duels, and after winning six successive points he eventually won the set, converting his first match point at 20-19 to clinch the opener.


Shi Yuqi bounced back in the second set, racing to a 4-2 lead and settling into his stride to win 21-19 and force a decider. But Lakshya Sen refused to back down, regrouping and shifting gears at 13-11 to create a decisive gap and win the match 21-17.
