Germany forward Kai Havertz is nearing full fitness after injury struggles and looks to use Arsenal's busy schedule as World Cup prep.

Kai Havertz says a strong Arsenal run will get him ready for the World Cup...

Kai Havertz is bouncing back from a tough 12 months with injuries and is keen to make an impact at the World Cup with Germany. A strong Arsenal run in the coming months would be the perfect prep for him.

“I had a tough time. ‌It was not easy for me,” Havertz told a press conference ahead of Germany's friendly against hosts Switzerland.

“I had my first injury in February last year, three ‌and a half months out then comeback and then a setback with the ‌knee injury,” he added.

Kai Havertz is back in action for Arsenal and feeling fit after a tough 12-month injury battle. The 26-year-old returned in January and is now ready to take on the busy schedule ahead, including the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League.

Havertz is confident in his abilities and is looking to make a strong impact with Arsenal, which will also prepare him for the World Cup with Germany. “I now feel completely fit. I need the one or other game from the start to reach 100 percent but I feel fit to start lasting over 90 minutes,” he said.

Kai Havertz mentioned that Arsenal's packed schedule is actually a good thing for him, as it will help prepare him for the World Cup with Germany.

“We have many matches in three competitions. I missed the first six months of the season and I will give it all for the club, and to be able to go with a lot of confidence to the World Cup,” he said.

Germany is gunning for the World Cup title, aiming to bounce back from their disappointing group-stage exits in 2018 and 2022. The four-time champions are determined to reclaim their status as a global football powerhouse. The tournament kicks off in June, co-hosted by Mexico, the United States, and Canada.

Germany's squad is looking strong, with top players like Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, and Serge Gnabry. Coach Julian Nagelsmann has also given opportunities to new talents like Paul Nebel and Ndamdi Collins. The team has been drawn into Group E, facing Ecuador, Côte d'Ivoire, and Curaçao.

Germany, the four-time World Cup champions, are looking to break their drought in major international tournaments since their 2014 win in Brazil. They're grouped with Ecuador, Curaçao, and Ivory Coast in Group E for the 2026 World Cup, happening from June 11th to July 19th.

Germany's World Cup journey kicks off on June 14th in Houston, Texas, against Curaçao. They'll then head to Toronto on June 20th to face Ivory Coast, followed by their final group match against Ecuador in New York on June 25th.
