Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhães has withdrawn from the Brazil squad due to a knee injury. He complained of pain in his right knee after the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City, and imaging scans confirmed he's not fit for Brazil's friendlies against France and Croatia.

Gabriel becomes the fifth Arsenal player to withdraw from international duty, joining William Saliba (France), Eberechi Eze (England), Jurrien Timber (Holland), and Leandro Trossard (Belgium), who are all staying in North London to rest and recover. This is a blow for Arsenal as they prepare for crucial matches, including the FA Cup quarter-final against Southampton and the Champions League quarter-final against Sporting.

“Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes is out of the friendlies against France and Croatia. Following the match this Sunday against Manchester City in the final of the English League Cup, the player complained of pain in his right knee. 

“Imaging scans confirmed that Gabriel Magalhaes is not fit for the matches in this FIFA international window. No other player will be called up to replace him,” the body confirmed.

Arsenal are dealing with a injury crisis, with Gabriel Magalhaes, Martin Odegaard, and Estevao all out with injuries. Gabriel's knee issue means he's out for Brazil's friendlies, Odegaard's injury keeps him out of Norway's squad, and Estevao's also recovering and wasn't called up by Brazil.

With the international break ending, Arsenal's focus shifts back to crucial matches: the FA Cup quarter-final against Southampton on Saturday, followed by the Champions League clash with Sporting just three days later. Mikel Arteta will be hoping his key players return fit soon.
