Ben White and Harvey Barnes have joined Thomas Tuchel's England squad, replacing injured Eberechi Eze and Jarell Quansah. White, an Arsenal defender, returns to the national team for the first time since the 2022 World Cup, while Barnes, a Newcastle winger, earns his first senior cap since October 2020.

The England squad will face Uruguay and Japan in their final friendlies before the World Cup in the US, Mexico, and Canada. Tuchel is using these matches to decide on his final squad for the tournament.

England boss Thomas Tuchel had initially named a 35-man squad for the upcoming friendlies against Uruguay and Japan, indicating he's considering all options for the World Cup. However, injuries to Eberechi Eze and Jarell Quansah have led to changes, with Ben White and Harvey Barnes joining the squad.

This is a significant opportunity for the players to impress Tuchel and secure a spot in the World Cup team m

Ben White is back in the England squad for the first time since 2022, and Harvey Barnes gets a call-up, having last played for the senior team way back in October 2020. They replace Eberechi Eze and Jarell Quansah, who've dropped out.

The England squad's gearing up for friendlies against Uruguay and Japan before the World Cup in the US, Mexico, and Canada. Tuchel's using these games to finalize his squad for the tournament.

A statement from the FA read: Newcastle United's Harvey Barnes and Arsenal's Ben White have been added to the England squad.

“The pair replace Arsenal's Eberechi Eze and Bayer Leverkusen's Jarell Quansah, who are ruled out of the Three Lions' March internationals through injury. Barnes made his only appearance for the senior team in October 2020, while White has four caps to his name.”

Harvey Barnes has opted to represent England at the World Cup, scrapping his chances with Scotland. This'll be a huge relief for Tuchel and England fans, who now have him in the mix for the tournament squad.

Barnes' decision means he's eligible to play for England, having made just one senior appearance back in 2020.
