Verona held on heroically despite being down to 10 men for most of the match, but conceded a late goal to Parma in added time - Mateo Pellegrino's header sealed the win for Parma.
Parma secured their second consecutive victory, moving them away from the relegation zone. However, they're still dealing with injuries: Mariano Troilo is suspended, and Nahuel Estevez, Zion Suzuki, Pontus Almqvist, Abdoulaye Ndiaye, and Matija Frigan are all out injured.
Verona, still at the bottom of the table, had a disappointing debut for new coach Paolo Sammarco - they drew 0-0 with Pisa. Meanwhile, Armal Bella-Kotchap returned, and Kieron Bowie started for the first time. Several players missed out, including Antoine Bernede, Toma Suslov, Roberto Gagliardini, Sandi Lovric, Pol Lirola, and Nicolas Valentini.
The goal came quick. Mandela Keita intercepted a poor pass from the opposition, feeding Adrian Bernabe, who showed great skill - flicking the ball up with his first touch and unleashing a powerful half-volley from 20 meters out.
Things took a turn for the worse for Verona as striker Gift Orban got a foul denied, lost his cool, and got sent off with a straight red. The referee wasn't having it after Orban let out a loud protest.
To make matters worse, Verona's Rafik Belghali limped off injured, adding to the team's growing list of problems. Verona's night just kept getting tougher.

Gabriel Strefezza went for a wild one - trying to score direct from the corner flag, but Lorenzo Montipò was equal to it, making a great save! Montipò was again called into action, denying Sascha Britschgi's volley with another impressive stop.
Lautaro Valenti's shot hit just wide, but Verona got a lifeline - Kieron Bowie, on his first start, won a penalty with a stunning piece of skill. He controlled the ball over the top, turned, and was brought down by Alessandro Circati.
Abdoui Harroui stepped up and converted the spot-kick for his first goal since returning from an ACL tear last year. Big moment for Verona, and a crucial penalty.
Referee Luca Pairetto had a scary moment when he accidentally collided with Niasse and hurt his eye, but he was able to continue after a quick check.
Kieron Bowie thought he'd won another penalty when he got into the box, but this time Mandela Keita got a toe to the ball first, denying Bowie a second penalty in the match.
Jacob Ondrejka's curling shot skimmed the upright, and Strefezza's volley on the rebound just sailed over.
The chances kept coming - on 71 minutes, Strefezza's right-foot curler hit the crossbar, and Montipò made another crucial save, parrying Ondrejka's follow-up effort with his legs.

Pellegrino's header from six yards went just off target, but Parma piled on the pressure in the closing stages.
The chances kept coming - Ondrejka's effort was palmed away, Oristanio's acrobatic volley went over, and Bernabé's shot was deflected narrowly past the post. But Verona's defense held... until stoppage time.
In the end, it was Pellegrino who broke the deadlock - Hans Nicolussi Caviglia's floated ball found him unmarked, and he headed home the winner for Parma.
