AS Roma tightened their grip on a Champions League spot with a commanding 3-0 win over Cremonese. The Giallorossi's impressive second-half display saw them extend Cremonese's winless streak to 12 games, with four draws and eight losses.

Roma, who've won all four previous Serie A games against newly-promoted sides this season, started strongly. Gian Piero Gasperini's men dominated early on, but struggled to create clear-cut chances, with Cremonese's Sebastiano Luperto narrowly missing an own goal.

Roma increased the pressure after a tense 30 minutes, with Gianluca Mancini's header hitting the bar from Bryan Zaragoza's delivery. Despite dominating possession, Roma struggled to break through, and the score remained level at half-time, with Cremonese's defense holding firm.

Similar to the first half, the Giallorossi began the second period in the ascendancy, with Donyell Malen seeing an effort smartly saved by Emil Audero at the near post.

That was only a brief reprieve for Cremonese, though, as Gasperini’s side took a deserved lead shortly before the hour mark when Lorenzo Pellegrini’s corner was superbly headed home by Bryan Cristante.

Buoyed by the breakthrough, Roma looked to press home their advantage as time ticked into the final 25 minutes, with Audero denying Evan Ndicka and Malen firing wide when well-placed in the box.

Undeterred, a second goal duly arrived for the hosts in the 77th minute, as Cristante’s flick from Neil El Aynaoui’s corner was clinically converted by Ndicka for the Ivorian’s first-ever Serie A strike

Roma's victory seemed all but sealed, and they added a fourth goal late on through substitute Niccolo Pisilli, who scored a stunning first-time effort into the far corner. This goal further emphasized Roma's dominance in the match.

The win puts Roma level on points with third-placed Napoli. Meanwhile, Cremonese remain just three points above the relegation zone, having scored in only two of their last 12 matches, highlighting their struggles in the league.
