NBA Roundup: Knicks Stun Rockets, Pistons Keep Pushing, Spurs Cruise
Knicks beat Rockets 108-106

NBA action heats up! Knicks rebound from 18-point deficit, Pistons roll to 42-13, Spurs win 8th straight, and Suns win in double OT.

“Just found a way...”

Jalen Brunson was on fire, scoring 18 of his 20 points in the second half to lead the New York Knicks to a thrilling 108-106 comeback win over the Houston Rockets at Madison Square Garden. Brunson's clutch performance included a tiebreaking jumper with 29.5 seconds left, securing the Knicks' victory.

Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons continued their winning streak, taking their fifth straight win, while the San Antonio Spurs kept the pressure on Western Conference leaders Oklahoma City Thunder with an eighth consecutive triumph. The Spurs' Victor Wembanyama had a standout game with 28 points and 15 rebounds.

Brunson's layup, sparked by teammate Jose Alvarado's second steal in 20 seconds, tied it up at 103-103 with 1:26 left. He then put the Knicks ahead for good, 105-103, with 29 seconds remaining.

The Knicks bounced back from a humbling loss to Detroit with a gritty win that put them back into a tie for third place in the East. “Just found a way,” Jalen Brunson said of the comeback. "Kept chipping away. Got some stops, made some shots and there it is.”

Karl-Anthony Towns scored 25 points and OG Anunoby added 20 for New York. The Knicks led by as many as 13 points in the first half but trailed 75-93 with 10:53 left to play.

Kevin Durant dropped 30 points for the Rockets, but Houston's 20 turnovers, which led to 30 Knicks points, ultimately cost them the game.

The Pistons bounced back from a slow start, cruising to a 126-110 win over the struggling Bulls in Chicago.

Detroit dominated the third quarter, outscoring the Bulls 44-26 to take control, and went on to lead by as many as 28 points, boosting their record to 42-13. Jalen Duren made a strong comeback from a two-game suspension, scoring 26 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.

Cade Cunningham dropped 18 points and dished out 13 assists, while Tobias Harris added 18 points for the Pistons. Detroit's strong performance keeps them six games clear of the Boston Celtics at the top of the East, with the Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers a further game back.

The Spurs capitalized on Sacramento's struggles, beating the Kings 139-122. The loss marked Sacramento's franchise-record 16th straight defeat.

Victor Wembanyama led the charge with 28 points, 15 rebounds, a steal, and four blocks for San Antonio. The French superstar was dominant, especially early on, blocking three shots in the first two minutes alone.

De'Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle, and Keldon Johnson each scored 18 points for the Spurs, who weathered a third-quarter storm from the Kings. Sacramento had cut the deficit to one, but San Antonio pulled away again to secure the win.

Green delivers

Jalen Green hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer from the corner to lift the Suns to a 113-110 double-overtime win over the Orlando Magic in Phoenix. Jevon Carter had tied it for the Magic with 1.1 seconds left in the second extra period, but Green came up clutch. It was just Green's sixth basket on 26 attempts on a tough shooting night.

Orlando's Desmond Bane topped all scorers with 34 points, but fouled out early in the first overtime, hurting the Magic's chances.

Phoenix's celebrations were muted due to Dillon Brooks' hand injury, which forced him out in the first quarter. The Suns are already missing Devin Booker, who's dealing with a right hip strain.
