Juventus swings to €2.5M net loss in first half of fiscal year, citing softer broadcasting and ticketing revenue...
Juventus, the Italian football giants, have reported a net loss of 2.5 million euros in the first half of their fiscal year, a significant shift from the 16.9 million euro profit they posted in the same period last year. This decline is largely attributed to softer broadcasting and ticketing revenue.
The club anticipates that the net result and operating cash flow will remain negative for the fiscal year ending June 30th, 2026. Juventus' financial struggles are partly due to an 11% decline in revenue, which fell to 260.6 million euros between July and December last year, impacted by weaker broadcasting and ticketing revenue, as well as lower players' registration-rights income.
Revenue at Torino FC fell by almost 11% to €260.6 million between July and December last year.
The decline was driven by weaker broadcasting and ticketing revenue, as well as lower income from players' registration rights, partly offset by stronger sponsorship deals.
After dominating Italian football for nearly a decade until 2020, Juventus was hit by an accounting scandal related to player trading and salary payments, resulting in a ban from European competitions in the 2023/24 season.
In October, the club appointed former Italy manager Luciano Spalletti as head coach until the end of the season.
