Inter Vs Genoa
Dimarco's sends Inter 13 points clear of Milan

Inter extends Serie A lead to 13 points over rivals Milan with win over Genoa. Inter Milan beat Genoa 2-0, with Federico Dimarco scoring from a tight angle and Hakan Calhanoglu converting a penalty.

Dimarco's volley and Calhanoglu's penalty secure comfortable win for Inter...

Inter Milan bounced back from their Champions League exit with a convincing 2-0 win over Genoa, extending their unbeaten streak to 14 league games against Il Grifone. Early chances were created, with Lorenzo Colombo's shot flying over the crossbar and Nicolo Barella's effort being blocked.

Inter Milan then asked questions through Federico Dimarco corners, although Justin Bijlow saved Stefan de Vrij’s header, and Manuel Akanji was unable to hit the target with his attempt.

Bijlow was then called into action again and made a brilliant save to deny Ange-Yoan Bonny after Ruslan Malinovskyi had cheaply conceded possession.

The Nerazzurri were very patient in their play, but Henrikh Mkhitaryan looked to take matters into his own hands and hit an ambitious strike that took a deflection off Johan Vasquez on its way to hitting the crossbar.

Bonny's header tested Bijlow, who made another great save. But on the half-hour mark, Dimarco capitalized on a Mkhitaryan pass, volleying it into the far corner from a ridiculously tight angle – nothing Bijlow could do.

Barella headed over a chance, and Ellertsson's volley was denied as Inter maintained their 1-0 lead at halftime.

After the break, both teams created chances, but goalkeepers were up to the task. Vitinha's long-range shot was deflected by Akanji, keeping it from going on target

Ellertsson then ballooned a header over with Il Grifone looking increasingly encouraged. That didn’t last too much longer, though, as Bijlow made yet another impressive save after Luis Henrique’s shot took a deflection off Aaron Martin.

However, Alex Amorim handled to concede a penalty moments later, and Hakan Calhanoglu sent the Genoa goalkeeper the wrong way from the spot.

Inter Milan secured their eighth consecutive Serie A win, defeating Genoa 2-0 and extending their lead to 13 points over second-placed AC Milan, who face Cremonese on Sunday. Mikael Egill Ellertsson's late header went wide, but Yann Sommer made a crucial save to prevent an own goal by Akanji, ensuring Inter avoided any late scares.

This win marked Genoa's first defeat in three games, leaving them three points above the relegation zone in 14th place. Inter's victory was built on a strong defensive performance, with Sommer making key saves to keep a clean sheet.
