Guus Til's Season Hit by Injury as PSV Face Tough Times
PSV Eindhoven's top scorer Guus Til injured in training, expected to miss several weeks, including KNVB Beker semifinal.
“Of course, I would have liked to continue on that path, especially because I was feeling good...”
PSV Eindhoven's top scorer, Guus Til, is facing a setback after picking up an injury in training. The 28-year-old midfielder is expected to be sidelined for several weeks, with his rehabilitation already underway. Til was instrumental in PSV's current Eredivisie lead, scoring 12 goals in 22 league matches.
This injury is a blow to PSV's title hopes, especially with other key players like Alassane Pléa and Ruben van Bommel already out. However, there's some hope on the horizon with Ricardo Pepi nearing his return from a broken arm.
Guus Til is PSV's top scorer in the Dutch Eredivisie with 12 goals. The midfielder has led the charge for PSV in recent months, filling the striker role while Ricardo Pepi, Myron Boadu, and Alassane Plea were out injured. “Of course, I would have liked to continue on that path, especially because I was feeling good and we are doing something really great as a team,” Til said, expressing his desire to keep the momentum going.
“But unfortunately, these kinds of minor setbacks are also part of top-level sport. I will do everything I can to come back as quickly and as strong as possible.”

Guus Til's injury means he'll miss key games, including PSV's KNVB Beker semifinal against NEC on March 3rd, plus league matches against Heerenveen and Heracles Almelo. Myron Boadu is set to take on a more prominent role, having recently returned to the matchday squad after recovering from a hamstring injury.
