Evans Wins Rally Sweden, Leads WRC Standings
Toyota dominates rally Sweden

Elfyn Evans wins Rally Sweden, takes early lead in World Rally Championship standings with Toyota's dominant performance.

“Thanks to the team, they've done an incredible job again, and a Toyota 1-2-3-4 feels amazing...”

Elfyn Evans secured his third Rally Sweden win, propelling him to the top of the World Rally Championship (WRC) standings. The Welsh driver led a dominant Toyota performance, finishing 14.3 seconds ahead of teammate Takamoto Katsuta, with Sami Pajari and Oliver Solberg completing the top four.

Solberg, the Monte Carlo winner, had a disappointing weekend, finishing fourth after a costly puncture on Friday. Evans now leads Solberg by 13 points, with Sebastien Ogier missing the event for family reasons. Toyota also extended its manufacturers' advantage to 52 points over Hyundai.

“Obviously pretty chuffed and relieved right now,” said Evans who finished 14.3 seconds ahead of teammate Takamoto Katsuta.

“Thanks to the team, they've done an incredible job again, and a Toyota 1-2-3-4 feels amazing. It's always an amazing atmosphere in Sweden and it's a special rally for many reasons.”

Evans previously won Rally Sweden, the only snow event of the season, in 2020 and 2025. Sami Pajari finished 46 seconds behind to complete the podium and make Toyota the first manufacturer since Citroen in 2010 to claim back-to-back podium lockouts in the WRC.

They now have a 51-point advantage over Hyundai in the manufacturers' championship.

Toyota's lead in the manufacturers' championship just got bigger, with a 51-point advantage over Hyundai.

Adrien Fourmaux and Thierry Neuville's fifth and seventh-place finishes for Hyundai weren't enough to close the gap, leaving them a long way behind the Toyotas. Next up, the WRC heads to Kenya for the Safari Rally – a whole different ball game with radical conditions.
