Australia's T20 World Cup campaign ends in group stage as Zimbabwe progresses to Super Eight...

Australia's T20 World Cup campaign has ended in the group stage after Zimbabwe's match against Ireland was abandoned due to rain, securing Zimbabwe's spot in the Super Eight. Zimbabwe now has five points, just one behind Group B leaders Sri Lanka, who beat Australia by eight wickets on Monday.

The abandoned match means Australia is out of the tournament with only two points from three games, and even a win against Oman won't be enough to change their fate. Zimbabwe, on the other hand, is heading to the Super Eight for the first time since 2003.

Zimbabwe's stunning 23-run win over Australia last week put them in a strong position, repeating their feat from 19 years ago. Now, rain is threatening to disrupt their match against Ireland, with the toss delayed at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

The match was eventually abandoned due to persistent rain, securing Zimbabwe's spot in the Super 8 stage and eliminating Australia from the tournament. This is Australia's joint-worst T20 World Cup campaign, failing to progress past the group stage for the second time.
