Bayern Munich's unbeaten home run in the Champions League continues, with a thrilling 3-1 comeback win over Sporting CP at the Allianz Arena. This impressive streak now stands at 35 games, with their only loss this season coming against Arsenal on Matchday 5.
The Bavarians were determined to bounce back from that defeat, and despite falling behind to a Joshua Kimmich own goal, they rallied to score three second-half goals. Teenage sensation Lennart Karl netted his third goal in as many Champions League matches, becoming the youngest player to achieve this feat. Serge Gnabry and Jonathan Tah also scored, securing Bayern's place in the top eight.
Karl's performance earned him Man of the Match honors, and he's now a force to be reckoned with in the Champions League. Bayern's next challenge is to maintain their momentum and secure a top-eight finish, which would guarantee a spot in the knockout stage.
Harry Kane's early shot from distance flew over the crossbar in the third minute, setting the tone for Bayern's dominant performance. Kane continued to be a threat, forcing a save from Rui Silva and hitting the post from just outside the box after a clever move past defenders.
Kane's impressive display made him the main threat, creating chances and testing the opposition's defense. Bayern Munich's chances kept coming before halftime, with Kane leading the charge.
17-year-old Lennart Karl was a constant threat, testing Sporting's goalkeeper Rui Silva with a shot from close range. He even had a goal ruled out for offside after a composed finish, but it was clear he was a force to be reckoned with.
Karl's performance was impressive, especially considering he's Bayern's youngest-ever Champions League scorer, following his goal against Club Brugge earlier in the competition. His pace and skill were evident, and he continued to cause problems for Sporting's defense.
Sporting CP faced a tough challenge against Bayern Munich, struggling to break through Bayern's strong pressing. Despite their efforts, they found themselves unable to create many scoring opportunities. One notable moment came when Manuel Neuer made a crucial save, preventing Jonathan Tah from scoring an own goal after he intercepted a cross.
Joao Simoes made a strong run down the right, beating Konrad Laimer with a clever stop-and-go move before crossing into the box. In an attempt to prevent Luis Suarez from scoring, Joshua Kimmich poked the ball past Manuel Neuer and into the far corner, giving Sporting CP the lead.

However, Bayern Munich slowly grew back into the game, and after a couple of chances from Harry Kane and Lennart Karl, they equalized when Serge Gnabry tapped in Michael Olise's corner unmarked at the back post.
Bayern Munich's momentum shifted when they scored, and they quickly took the lead. Konrad Laimer's precise pass to Lennart Karl gave the youngster a chance to shine, and he delivered. Karl expertly controlled the ball before firing it past Sporting CP's goalkeeper Rui Silva, making him the youngest player in UEFA Champions League history to score in three consecutive games.

Sporting CP had managed to take the lead, but Bayern Munich's strong comeback ultimately led to their downfall. Rui Silva's impressive save from Dayot Upamecano's header kept Sporting in the game, but it was Jonathan Tah's close-range volley that sealed the win for Bayern, securing their place at the top of the league phase standings, level with Arsenal but trailing on goal difference.
Sporting CP still has a good chance of reaching the knockout stages, but this loss is a setback for their hopes of automatic qualification for the last 16. However, with just one loss in 13 games across all competitions, they're unlikely to panic and will look to bounce back strong.
