Valencia battled back to earn a 1-1 draw away to Rayo Vallecano, extending their winless away run in La Liga to seven games (L4, D3). The point was hard-earned, given their slow start to the match.

Rayo Vallecano had looked threatening after a strong first-half display, but Valencia's resilience paid off. Despite being one win from five matches in November, Los Che's point away from home was a morale booster, given their struggles on the road this season.

Valencia's goalkeeper Julen Agirrezabala was in top form, making crucial saves to keep the scoreline goalless in a one-sided first half. His best save came in the 25th minute, when he blocked Jorge de Frutos' shot and followed up with a goal-line clearance from Jose Copete to deny Fran Perez.

Despite Agirrezabala's heroics, Valencia's resistance eventually crumbled, and they conceded a goal. However, they managed to grab a late equalizer, securing a 1-1 draw.

Rayo Vallecano's Nobel Mendy had been made to rue an earlier miss, but he made no mistake from a similar position five minutes later. Gerard Gumbau's whipped corner found its way to Mendy, and the Senegalese defender's glancing header sailed past Julen Agirrezabala, giving Rayo the lead.

Valencia's resurgence in the second half silenced the noisy Estadio de Vallecas crowd. Though they struggled to create clear chances, luck was on their side. A scrappy sequence in the box led to Diego Lopez's shot, which deflected off Nobel Mendy and looped past his own goalkeeper, securing Valencia's equalizer.

As the game entered its final stretch, Valencia looked more likely to snatch a winner, but it was Rayo's Andrei Ratiu who had the best chance, firing a shot that rattled the side-netting. In the end, a promising night for Rayo ended in disappointment, while Valencia settled for a point, moving them further away from relegation.

The draw extended Valencia's winless away run in La Liga, but a point was enough to lift them, given their struggles on the road this season. Rayo, on the other hand, had a chance to move closer to the top half but will have to settle for a draw.
