Liverpool's struggles continued as they drew 3-3 with Leeds United, blowing a 2-0 lead. The Reds were without Mohamed Salah, who was benched for the third league game in a row. They started strongly, with Curtis Jones hitting the crossbar early on, but Leeds' defensive approach limited Liverpool's attacking opportunities.

Leeds' strategy involved a five-man defense, which wasn't surprising given Liverpool's history against such formations. However, Leeds' lack of attacking intent meant they offered little threat, despite Liverpool's struggles to break them down. The game was intense, with both teams creating chances, but it was Leeds who snatched a late equalizer.

Liverpool's inability to hold onto leads is becoming a concern, and the pressure is mounting on Arne Slot. They missed the chance to draw level with Chelsea, who are currently fourth in the league. The Reds will be frustrated with the result, especially after dominating parts of the game. Leeds, on the other hand, will be happy to have taken a point from a strong Liverpool side.

Slot’s men dominated for most of the first half, but they were facing similar issues to those they’ve faced in almost all of their recent games – they simply couldn’t create chances.

That was leaving the door gently ajar for Leeds, but their chances of finding an opener were being stifled by having seven defensive-minded outfield players on the pitch, which left both managers with plenty to ponder at half-time, especially given both went into the break without mustering a single shot on target.

Neither Farke nor Slot elected to shuffle the pack, and the Liverpool boss’ call paid dividends within the opening five minutes when a loose pass sent Hugo Ekitike racing through on goal, allowing the forward to capitalise and find the bottom corner.

The Frenchman doubled his tally for the evening just two minutes later, reacting quickest inside the area to pounce on Conor Bradley’s delivery and turn home Liverpool’s second goal to leave Leeds with a mountain to climb.

However, they were given a huge leg up 20 minutes from time when Ibrahima Konate’s moment of madness inside the area on Wilfried Gnonto was punished with a penalty after Anthony Taylor consulted the pitchside monitor.

Dominic Calvert-Lewinb shouldered the responsibility from the spot and – for the second weekend running – scored against one of the traditional big six.

Remarkably, just two minutes later, Leeds clawed themselves back onto level terms as Anton Stach cut in off the left and hammered home an equaliser at the near post

Leeds was expected to push for more goals, but Liverpool caught them off guard. A clever dummy from Alexis Mac Allister allowed Dominik Szoboszlai to score, putting Liverpool 3-2 up. However, Leeds didn't give up and continued to push for an equalizer.

In the 96th minute, Ao Tanaka scored a dramatic late equalizer, securing a 3-3 draw for Leeds. This result leaves Arne Slot's position under pressure, while Leeds moves closer to safety. The comeback was remarkable, especially after Leeds had been 2-0 down earlier in the game.
