Cameroon has made some significant changes to their team ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations, omitting goalkeeper Andre Onana from their squad and appointing David Pagou as their new coach, replacing Belgian Marc Brys. Onana, who's currently on loan at Trabzonspor from Manchester United, is one of several experienced players dropped, including striker Vincent Aboubakar, a mainstay of the team for the last 15 years.


The changes come after Cameroon's failure to qualify for the 2026 World Cup. Pagou, who has managed in Cameroon's domestic league, will be assisted by Martin Ntoungou Mpile. The team will be led by new faces, with Manchester United winger Bryan Mbeumo and Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Carlos Baleba among the notable inclusions.

Cameroon will face Gabon, Ivory Coast, and Mozambique in Group F of the tournament, which starts on December 21 and ends on January 18. The team will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing World Cup qualification campaign.
