Reece James, Chelsea's captain, believes his team could have beaten Arsenal despite playing with 10 men for over half the match. The Blues dominated the game, but ultimately settled for a 1-1 draw. Moises Caicedo was sent off in the 38th minute for a tackle on Mikel Merino, but Chelsea took the lead three minutes into the second half through Trevoh Chalobah's header from James' corner.

James praised his team's performance, saying they “dominated the whole game in every area” and made a statement about their position in the league. He was proud of how Chelsea coped with the pressure and countered, despite being a man down. The result leaves Chelsea third in the Premier League table, six points behind leaders Arsenal.
Pedro Neto was a constant threat down the right wing, and substitute Liam Delap also had a great opportunity to score in the 78th minute, but Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya made a fantastic save to keep the scores level. Reece James, Chelsea's captain, praised his team's resilience, saying he was proud of how they absorbed the pressure and countered.
“We played 60 minutes with 10 men, having to cope with all of their players – they are a very good team, they’re the league leaders at the moment," James told Chelsea's website.
“We knew the game was going to be tough, but to be honest it was a game we felt we probably could have won. It was difficult to only walk away with a point considering how well we did.”
Chelsea, currently third in the Premier League table with 24 points, trail leaders Arsenal by six points. Their next match is against Leeds United away on Wednesday.
“We dominated the whole game in every area throughout. I think that was a big statement on where we are and what we're fighting for,” James said.
