Zrinjski come back to beat winless Hacken thanks to quick second-half double...

Hacken remain without a win in this year’s UEFA Conference League (UECL) as Zrinjski came from behind to record a 2-1 victory in Mostar, extending their unbeaten run across all competitions to seven games in the process.

Both sides were in need of the win if they were to harbour any real hopes of reaching the knockout stages, but in windy conditions, the first half was anything but a classic as both sides struggled to exert any sustained pressure.

The hosts were struggling to score, but were presented with a great chance just before halftime. However, Mario Cuze's chip attempt from a tight angle was wayward, and the visitors cleared. The Swedes then shocked the home side, scoring just before halftime through Silas Andersen, who headed in Mikkel Rygaard's cross.

The goal seemed to spark Häcken into life, and they pushed for a second goal. Simon Gustafson and Amor Layouni had great chances, but their efforts were wasted. Zrinjski's goalkeeper, Marin Ljubic, made some crucial saves to keep the score level.

Andersen had perhaps the best chance, somehow poking past the post from just a few yards out. At the other end, Nemanja Bilbija couldn’t quite get a ball over the top under control with just Hacken shot-stopper Etrit Berisha to beat.

That was one of the few noteworthy forays forward, and they did not look like equalising until the 78th minute. Berisha was equal to Cuze’s first strike, but could only parry straight into his path once more, and the Croatian was in no mood to waste the opportunity a second time.

Buoyed by that effort, Zrinjski immediately appeared to be in control of the game, and were soon in front courtesy of a fantastic strike as Bilbija arrowed a half-volley in off the post from all of 30 yards.

Hacken looked shell-shocked, and while the onus was on them to salvage something, they could not produce anything of note.

Hacken's chances of advancing look slim with just 2 points from 4 games. Zrinjski, on the other hand, are looking confident, sitting comfortably in the playoff spots with a realistic shot at the knockout stages.
