Cagliari and Genoa put on a show, playing out a thrilling 3-3 draw. The match had everything - goals, drama, and excitement. It was Daniele De Rossi's first game as Genoa coach, though he had to watch from the stands in their previous match against Fiorentina due to a ban.
Genoa missed key players like Maxwel Cornet, Junior Messias, and Jean Onana, but Ruslan Malinovskyi was back from suspension. Cagliari, on the other hand, were without Ze Pedro and Andrea Belotti, who are out with knee injuries. The hosts were struggling, winless in their last seven games.
Alessandro Deiola had an early chance, but his volley from a corner went straight at the goalkeeper. Genoa then had a double opportunity on nine minutes, with Vitinha's shot forcing a great save from Elia Caprile, followed by Brooke Norton-Cuffy's follow-up being cleared off the line by Sebastiano Luperto.
Genoa broke the deadlock when Lorenzo Colombo's through ball found Vitinha, who took a touch to hold off Gabriele Zappa and scored with a stretched shot into the far corner from 12 yards. The goal came after some great build-up play from the visitors.
Genoa should've gone 2-0 up when Vitinha and Colombo combined again, but Colombo's finish was weak and straight at Caprile. Cagliari hit back, equalizing through Gennaro Borrelli's header from Marco Palestra's cross, which was only flapped away by Nicola Leali after crossing the line.
The game was going end to end, and Genoa restored their lead when Leo Ostigard swept in Morten Thorsby's volley from a long Malinovskyi ball. The defender's third goal in three games. Cagliari quickly equalized again, with Borrelli's flick-on setting up Prati's perfect assist for Sebastiano Esposito to fire in off the outside of his boot.

Colombo's sudden snapshot tested Caprile, who managed to smother an Ostigard flick from a corner. Cagliari took the lead for the first time with Borrelli's second goal, as he headed home Zappa's curled cross from close range.
Lorenzo Colombo was left frustrated on 78 minutes when his spectacular control and half-volley went in off the underside of the bar, but Caleb Ekuban was offside in the build-up, so it didn’t count.
Genoa equalized soon after, and it was in bizarre circumstances. Aaron Martin only intended to pump a long free kick into the box, but Caprile let it bounce and badly misjudged the flight of the ball, which looped over him into the empty net, making it 3-3.
