Man United vs Crystal Palace: Zirkzee and Mount seal dramatic comeback win. Amorim's United bounce back from Everton defeat with 2-1 win at Palace.

“So I think in the end, we deserved the three points, and I'm really happy to give that to the fans...

Ruben Amorim is thrilled with Manchester United's response after their 2-1 come-from-behind win at Crystal Palace, ending the hosts' long unbeaten home run. The victory marked a much-needed boost for United, who had suffered a disappointing loss to 10-man Everton at Old Trafford just days prior.

Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount scored crucial second-half goals, propelling United to sixth place in the table, surpassing Palace. Amorim praised his team's intensity and attention to detail, highlighting Zirkzee's impactful performance and Mount's decisive goal.

“It's important to win every game and again today was proof that if you play the same way but increase the way we fight for every ball and the small details, the certainty on the pass, the movements, we work on that in a different pace, we can beat anyone,” Amorim said.

“We increased the rhythm in the second half. We took advantage of the opponent that we felt even in the first half, the last 15 minutes, (Palace) were tired,” Amorim said.

Manchester United picked up a crucial 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, ending the hosts' nine-month unbeaten run at home. This victory marked United's second away win in their last 12 games, a significant turnaround considering their struggles on the road.

Despite Palace dominating the first half, United manager Ruben Amorim was pleased with his team's intensity after the break. The Red Devils were trailing 1-0 at halftime, but they staged a stunning comeback in the second half, thanks to goals from Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount. Zirkzee's goal ended his personal drought, scoring his first league goal in almost a year.

“But the main change was the intensity and the pace of our of our game, even quality when we connect, especially with Josh in the second half, was different.

“So I think in the end, we deserved the three points, and I'm really happy to give that to the fans.”

Joshua Zirkzee ended his personal goal drought, scoring his first league goal in almost a year and fourth since joining Manchester United in 2024. The Dutch striker started in place of injured Matheus Cunha and made a significant impact, scoring the equalizer for United.

“It is so important for a striker to score a goal,” Amorim said. “He is not playing many minutes but the way he responds in the second half is really important. It's more important than just the goal.

“Again the small details — win one first ball for us to win the second ball. The connection is so important for our game. The goal is really important for our team and for him.”
