Preston North End's Milutin Osmajic has received a nine-match ban for racially abusing Burnley's Hannibal Mejbri during a Championship match. The incident occurred during a 0-0 draw at Deepdale in February, and an independent Regulatory Commission found Osmajic guilty of an aggravated breach of FA rules.

Osmajic had denied the charge, but the commission's ruling led to the nine-match suspension. The FA's investigation found that Osmajic's words included a reference to colour and/or race, making it an aggravated breach. This decision reflects the FA's zero-tolerance approach to racism in football.

Preston North End has expressed disappointment with the decision, stating they're “extremely disappointed” with the outcome. “Milutin has always pleaded his innocence and continues to do so. We continue to be fully supportive of our player,” the club said in a statement.

Osmajic has received a nine-match ban and a £21,000 fine, and must complete an education course. The penalties follow the FA's finding that Osmajic racially abused Burnley's Hannibal Mejbri during a Championship match in February.
