Maxence Lacroix scores as Eagles triumph over AZ

Crystal Palace defender Maxence Lacroix impresses with goal and strong performance after Eagles beat AZ 3-1 in Conference League.

“We are in a good way. We’ve won three games in a row, so we are really happy about that, and we want to continue...”

Crystal Palace defender Maxence Lacroix was thrilled with his team's performance in their Conference League win against AZ, saying, “We are really happy, really happy to get this win for them, and with how we played.” Lacroix's impressive display included a goal, contributing to Crystal Palace's 3-1 win, with Ismaila Sarr scoring twice.

“We pressed really well,” Lacroix added, highlighting the team's efforts. The win marks Crystal Palace's second in the competition and brings them closer to securing an automatic spot in the round of 16. The Eagles will look to build on this momentum in their next match.

“We are really happy. The game we lost here (against Larnaca) was a bit sad for us, but we said before the game that we wanted to give this win to them - the fans, everyone - and I think everyone deserves it, and that is what we did today.”

“We are in a good way. We’ve won three games in a row, so we are really happy about that, and we want to continue. We have the derby (against Brighton & Hove Albion) on Sunday, so I think it's going to be an important moment for us.”

Lacroix added on AZ: “To be honest, I was impressed by them because they pressed really well. But we saw that after with the intensity we put, it was another level, I think, and we showed that we can compete.”

As for his goal, Lacroix laughed: “I'm really happy to help the team. I'm a defender, but I can score goals. With this type of goal, with the foot, it’s even better!”
