Neto and Fernandez score as Chelsea rise to second with win over Burnley Burnley are now winless in a joint-club record 10 Premier League home games against Chelsea after losing 2-0 at Turf Moor, with the Blues' win shooting them up to second place.
Chelsea weren't exactly the easiest opponent for Burnley given their recent form, but you'd never have known it from the start. Burnley began strongly and had three early chances through Loum Tchaouna and Jaidon Anthony, only for Chelsea defenders to block their shots at the last minute.
The Blues were pretty timid at the start, struggling to get into their game, and by the time the half-hour mark came, a blocked shot from Pedro Neto was the only real chance they'd had near the Burnley area. Trevoh Chalobah was the first Chelsea player to really test Martin Dubravka, but even then, the Slovakian keeper was able to handle it easily.
Enzo Maresca's team finally found their groove just before halftime - Kyle Walker made a crucial block to deny Jamie Gittens a goal. But Gittens bounced back, playing a key role in Chelsea's opener - his perfect cross found Neto, who headed home from the back post.

Chelsea looked more threatening after the break, but creating chances wasn't easy. Gittens had a deflected shot narrowly miss the post, but a 1-0 lead made Chelsea cautious.
They came close to doubling their lead when Neto hit the post with a shot around the hour mark. Burnley had a brief scare when Zian Flemming volleyed over from inside the area - after that chance, Scott Parker brought on three subs.
Burnley's changes didn't really pay off - they kept struggling to break through Chelsea's solid defense.
Chelsea wrapped it up late on, Marc Guiu got the ball and muscled past a defender before setting up Enzo Fernandez for a tap-in.

That win's a good boost for Chelsea before their big games against Barcelona and Arsenal - meanwhile, Burnley's relegation fears are growing.
