Danny Welbeck's sixth Premier League goal of the season set Brighton & Hove Albion on their way to a 3-0 win over Leeds United, who have now lost nine of their last 10 top-flight away matches.

Leeds United hopes of securing back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time since November 2022 were quickly dashed after a poor start, with Brighton scoring in the 11th minute. Diego Gomez sealed the win with a second-half brace, while Yankuba Minteh's impressive performance and Welbeck's early strike showcased Brighton's dominance.

Yasin Ayari's energetic display posed a threat to Leeds, as he showcased his skills with a warning shot and a clever interception high up the pitch. However, his subsequent shot lacked precision.

Leeds' defense was caught off guard again soon after, as Yankuba Minteh's expertly threaded pass found Mats Wieffer, who delivered a first-time ball that Welbeck skillfully tucked home. Brighton dominated the rain-soaked first half at the Amex, with Welbeck having a chance to double their lead when he guided a shot wide from the edge of the box after half an hour.

Minteh's dynamic play continued as he cleverly used a dummy to create space and shoot, but his effort dragged just wide of the target.

Leeds struggled to create chances, with their best opportunity before halftime being expertly quashed by Lewis Dunk and Jan Paul van Hecke's timely interventions. The visitors' lack of shots on target before the break reflected their struggles in front of goal. After the restart, Brighton maintained their dominance, with Georginio Rutter firing a shot into the side netting as they continued to press their advantage.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin's snapshot drifted wide with almost an hour played, providing a glimmer of hope for Leeds as they searched for a goal. However, it was a brief respite, as Minteh's brilliant play soon turned the tide in Brighton's favor.

Minteh's dazzling display down the flank proved too much for Leeds' defense, as he beat his marker and delivered a precise pass to Diego Gómez, who scored with ease after a clever dummy from Rutter.

Brighton sealed the win with another clinical finish six minutes later, as Rutter pounced on Jayden Bogle's loose touch and cleverly set up Gómez for his second goal of the match.

The victory marked a confident display from Brighton, who saw out the match to remain unbeaten in nine home league games dating back to last season (W5, D4). This win also extended their unbeaten record against Leeds in the Premier League to seven matches (W4, D3), a streak that now represents the most times Brighton have faced a team in the top flight without losing, and conversely, the most times Leeds have encountered a side in the division without claiming a win.
