Defending champions Al Ahli maintained their unbeaten start in the Asian Champions League Elite, securing a 2-1 victory over Al-Sadd in Doha. Meanwhile, fellow Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad celebrated a convincing 3-0 win over Sharjah FC.

Al Ahli's win took them to 10 points from four matches, just two points behind leaders Al-Hilal. Riyad Mahrez opened the scoring for Al Ahli, before Claudinho equalized for Al-Sadd. However, Matheus Gonçalves restored Al Ahli's lead, securing the win for the defending champions.

Al Ittihad's victory over Sharjah FC was courtesy of goals from Steven Bergwijn, Karim Benzema, and Roger Fernandes. The win moved Al Ittihad up to sixth position in the standings, setting their sights on the knockout rounds scheduled for March in Saudi Arabia.

Riyad Mahrez opened the scoring for Al Ahli in the 34th minute, capitalizing on Al Sadd's defensive lapse. The play unfolded when Claudinho lost possession deep in his own half, allowing Al Ahli to press and work the ball to Enzo Millot. Millot then set up Mahrez, who delivered a precise shot into the bottom corner, beating Meshaal Barsham.

Claudinho leveled the score for the Qatari side in the 63rd minute with a precise shot into the top corner. However, Al Ittihad's momentum continued, and Matheus Goncalves sealed the win with a powerful left-footed strike from a tight angle that Barsham couldn't save.

Goals from Steven Bergwijn, Karim Benzema, and Roger Fernandes secured Al Ittihad's victory over Sharjah in Jeddah, marking the Saudi champions' second consecutive win in the league phase.

Al Ittihad bounced back from a slow start, with Steven Bergwijn opening the scoring in the 8th minute with a precise header from 12 meters out.

Karim Benzema doubled the lead in the 66th minute, expertly sidefooting Moussa Diaby's cross into the net. Roger Fernandes sealed the win with a late goal, slotting home four minutes into stoppage time to make it 3-0.

Al Ittihad's victory propelled them to sixth place in the standings, trailing Al Hilal by six points as the West Asia league phase hits its midpoint. The top eight teams from both West and East Asia will advance to the knockout rounds in March, with the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final set to take place in Saudi Arabia in April.

Al Ittihad is currently in a strong position to make it to the knockout stage, but they'll need to keep their momentum going. With their win over Sharjah FC, they've demonstrated their capabilities on the pitch. The next few matches will be crucial in determining their final standings
