Fiorentina dominated possession early on and thought they might have taken the lead inside four minutes when Niklas Hedl fumbled the ball, but Ange Ahoussou came to the rescue twice, clearing off the line to deny Mattia Viti and Edin Dzeko.

The Italian side continued to press and eventually broke through, securing a 3-0 win over Rapid Vienna in the rain-soaked Allianz Stadion. With this victory, Fiorentina now tops the Conference League table, albeit temporarily, as the only team with six points. This impressive win continues Fiorentina's strong start to the competition, building on their experience as two-time finalists.

Dzeko played a key role in the opening goal, firing a low drive that Hedl palmed out to Cher Ndour, who slotted home his second goal of the season.

Rapid Vienna's response to the deficit was promising, but they squandered a chance to equalize when Nikolaus Wurmbrand's scuffed shot, resulting from Dzeko's loose pass, was comfortably saved by David De Gea. The Austrian side failed to pose a significant threat to De Gea before halftime.

Fiorentina escaped punishment for two foul throws in the first half, but fortune wasn't entirely on their side. Niccolo Fagioli delivered a stunning pass over the top of Rapid's defense, only for Roberto Piccoli to miss the target as he bore down on goal, potentially taking the score to 2-0 into halftime.

Rapid Vienna made no changes to their starting XI for the second half, but it didn't matter as Fiorentina sealed the win. Cher Ndour advanced down the field and fed Niccolo Fortini, whose cross was expertly headed home by Edin Dzeko, doubling Fiorentina's lead early in the second period.

Rapid Vienna's coach, Peter Stoger, made changes around the hour mark, bringing in Tobias Gulliksen and Jonas Auer for Wurmbrand and Bendeguz Bolla. However, it was Matthias Seidl who gave De Gea a scare with a swerving strike that hit the crossbar after being superbly tipped by the goalkeeper.

Fiorentina ultimately controlled the match and sealed the win with a precise finish from substitute Albert Gudmundsson. The loss leaves Rapid Vienna near the bottom of the table, continuing a worrying trend where they've conceded at least twice in six of their last seven Conference League matches, including qualifiers.
