Tottenham Appoints Fabio Paratici as Sporting Director
Fabio Paratici back at Tottenham after serving 30-month ban

Tottenham confirms Fabio Paratici's return as sporting director, teaming up with Johan Lange to drive men's football strategy.

“I'm delighted to be returning to a club that I love...”

Fabio Paratici is back at Tottenham Hotspur as a sporting director, partnering with Johan Lange to shape the club's men's football strategy. This move comes after Paratici completed a 30-month FIFA ban that forced him to step down from his role as managing director of football in April 2023.

The ban was related to alleged financial irregularities during his time at Juventus, where he served as sporting director and managing director before joining Tottenham in 2021. Paratici and Juventus denied any wrongdoing, but his appeal was rejected by Italy's top sports body, leading to his resignation.

Paratici expressed his excitement about returning to Tottenham, saying, “I'm delighted to be returning to a club that I love... I'm convinced that working in partnership with Johan, we can build a special future for the club and our supporters.” He'll focus on recruitment, scouting, and performance development, working closely with Lange and the coaching staff.

Tottenham is also set to appoint a director of football operations to support Paratici and Lange, further solidifying their leadership structure. Vinai Venkatesham will continue to oversee the women's team, while Paratici and Lange drive the men's football strategy.

Paratici's ban was extended by FIFA based on the Italian Football Federation's (FIGC) ruling, prompting him to lodge an appeal in Italy. Despite this, he was required to serve the ban. Both Paratici and Juventus maintained their innocence, denying any wrongdoing.

Tottenham confirmed that Paratici has been working behind the scenes as a consultant for the club for several months. He will now partner with Johan Lange, the club's newly promoted co-sporting director. Together, they will lead the men's football strategy and drive the club's ambitions.

“I'm convinced that working in partnership with Johan we can build a special future for the club and our supporters,” Paratici said in a statement.

Tottenham is also searching for a director of football operations to work alongside Paratici and Lange.
