Luuk de Jong, the FC Porto striker, received a prestigious honor from his former club PSV, being inducted into the Eindhoven club's Walk of Fame. The Dutch international's impressive achievements on the field earned him this recognition, cementing his legacy as one of the club's greatest players.

De Jong, currently dealing with physical problems, missed the Portuguese Cup tie against Celoricense but made a special trip to the Netherlands to receive the honor. PSV paid tribute to De Jong's remarkable career with a ceremonial lap around the pitch and renaming the stadium's press room “Luuk de Jong Mediaroom.”

Highlights of Luuk de Jong's Achievements

Games Played: 338 matches for PSV

Goals Scored: 186 goals

This recognition marks a special moment for De Jong, who played a crucial role in shaping PSV's success during his time with the club.

Luuk de Jong was given a warm welcome at Philips Stadium before the Eredivisie match against Go Ahead Eagles, where he was honored for his achievements. The club paid tribute to the Dutch striker by renaming the Philips Stadium press room to 'Luuk de Jong Mediaroom', a nod to his impressive contributions. This gesture comes as De Jong joins the club's walk of fame, a testament to his remarkable 338 games and 186 goals for PSV.

“Honestly, it's hard to find words to describe this moment,” De Jong said, visibly moved by the tribute. The honor bestowed upon him is a rare recognition, with De Jong becoming the youngest player and the only active player to have a tile in the Energiedirect Walk of Fame. PSV's Managing Director Marcel Brands praised De Jong's statistics, calling him a true leader who the team followed blindly.

De Jong's impressive PSV career saw him score 186 goals in 338 appearances, winning five national titles, two KNVB Bekers, and four Johan Cruijff Shields. His departure to FC Porto last summer marked the end of an era, but PSV has ensured his legacy lives on within the club.
