Jurgen Klopp sparks Liverpool return rumors, citing “theoretically possible” as he opens door to Anfield comeback.

“I don't know exactly, I love what I do right now. I don't miss coaching. I do coach now, but just different...”

Jurgen Klopp, the former Liverpool manager, has hinted that a return to the club is possible in the future. Speaking on The Diary of a CEO podcast, Klopp explained that while he has no immediate plans to return to management, his affection for Liverpool leaves the door open for a potential comeback.

Klopp cited exhaustion as a key factor in his decision to step down as Liverpool manager in 2024, after nine remarkable years at the helm. Despite his departure, Klopp has remained fond of the club and its people, fueling speculation about a possible return.

After departing Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp took on a new role as Red Bull's Global Head of Soccer in early 2025. Despite his deep passion for the sport, he has expressed contentment with leaving the coaching grind behind.

In a recent podcast interview, however, Klopp hinted at a potential return to Liverpool, stating it's “theoretically possible” if given the opportunity. This development has sparked speculation among fans and the football community, with many eager to see the iconic manager return to the club.

“I said I would never coach a different team in England. So that means if, (I did return to England) then it’s Liverpool. Yeah, theoretically it’s possible.

“I don't know exactly, I love what I do right now. I don't miss coaching. I do coach now, but just different.

“I don't miss standing in the rain, two-and-a-half (to) three hours, I don't miss going to press conferences three times a week, having 12 interviews a week. I don't miss that, I don't.

“I don't miss being in the dressing room, I coached something like 1,080 games so I was in a dressing room often. I don't want to die in a dressing room because it's nice, it smells.”

Under Klopp's leadership, Liverpool ended a 30-year wait for a top-flight title in 2020 and followed it up with a Champions League triumph. This marked an incredible period for the club, cementing their status as a European powerhouse.

When asked about the possibility of returning to Liverpool, Klopp expressed uncertainty about the future. “I don't know exactly,” he said, adding that he loves his current role a100t Red Bull but could envision returning to Liverpool in theory. Klopp's comments have sparked speculation about a potential comeback, with fans and pundits alike weighing the possibilities.

“There might be something, I'm 58, I could make the decision in a few years... I don't know.

“Do I have to make the decision today? Then I will not coach again. But thank God, I don’t have to do that. I can just see what the future brings.”

“Now I'm in a project I really love, I like doing what I'm doing right now. In my mind, only if I'm focused 100 per cent, I can do it really good.”
