England starlet Michelle Agyemang has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a ruptured ACL, her club Arsenal has confirmed.

“As a member of the Lionesses family, she has the full support of the FA and everyone associated with our England teams...”

England's Michelle Agyemang is facing a lengthy layoff after tearing her ACL during the friendly match against Australia. The 19-year-old striker was stretchered off the field in obvious distress and later confirmed the seriousness of the injury on social media.

Agyemang's club, Arsenal, announced that she will be out for the remainder of the season, citing the severity of the ACL rupture. The club is working closely with Brighton, where Agyemang is on loan, to determine a treatment and rehabilitation plan for the talented young forward.

The injury is a significant blow to both Arsenal and Brighton, as Agyemang has been in impressive form this season. She played a crucial role in England's European Championship success and was named the tournament's outstanding young player. Agyemang's road to recovery will likely take 9-12 months, during which time she'll work on rebuilding her strength and fitness.

Michelle Agyemang, who had joined Brighton & Hove Albion on loan for the 2025-26 season, has been confirmed to have suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.

Arsenal released a statement confirming the injury, saying, “We can confirm that Michelle Agyemang suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament injury while playing in England's 3-0 win over Australia in Derby on Tuesday.” As a result of the injury, Agyemang will miss the remainder of the 2025-26 season. The club added, “We are in close contact with Brighton as we determine a treatment and recovery programme for Michelle.”

The England Football Association has pledged their full support to Michelle Agyemang as she undergoes rehabilitation for her ruptured ACL, stating: “As a member of the Lionesses family, she has the full support of the FA and everyone associated with our England teams. Lionesses staff will remain in regular contact with Michelle and her club and be on hand to aid any aspect of her rehabilitation.”

“Disappointed that results show a torn ACL,” Agyemang wrote on Instagram.

“Recovery starts now, I will be back stronger than before.”
