Yoshinobu Yamamoto delivered a masterful performance, throwing a complete game to lead the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 5-1 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 2 of the National League Championship Series.
Yamamoto's impressive outing saw him surrender just one run on three hits, strike out six batters, and walk one on 111 pitches, cementing his status as a top pitcher in the league.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto made history by becoming the 13th pitcher in MLB postseason history to throw a complete game in the NLCS. His remarkable performance marked the first complete game in eight years, following Justin Verlander's feat in Game 2 of the 2017 ALCS.
This achievement not only cemented Yamamoto's place in the record books but also marked a personal milestone. The complete game was his first as a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers, showcasing his growth and skill as a pitcher.
Brewers' young sensation Jackson Chourio got Milwaukee on the board early with a solo home run in the first inning. However, the Dodgers took over from there, dominating the rest of the game.
The Dodgers seized the lead in the second inning, thanks to a solo home run from Teoscar Hernandez. The ball sailed deep into left field, marking a historic moment for Hernandez, who became the Dodgers' all-time postseason leader with 14 home runs.
This powerful swing was also a redemption moment for Hernandez, following a contentious call at the plate in the previous game. The solo homer was his fourth of the postseason, showcasing his clutch hitting abilities.
Andy Pages delivered a crucial double down the right field line, scoring Keke Hernandez and extending the Dodgers' lead. This marked a significant moment for Pages, who finally broke through with his first hit of the series.
Pages' double was only his second hit in the postseason, coming off a 28-at-bat stretch. Despite the slow start, his timely hitting helped boost the Dodgers' momentum in the game.
Max Muncy got his revenge with a deep home run to center field off starting pitcher Freddy Peralta. This time, Muncy's shot was out of reach for Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick, a stark contrast to Game 1 when Frelick robbed him of a grand slam.
Peralta's outing came to an end after surrendering the home run. He finished 5.2 innings, allowing three runs on five hits, striking out five, and walking one batter.

Aaron Ashby replaced Abner Uribe in the seventh inning, allowing a single to Shohei Ohtani that drove in Keke Hernandez, extending the Dodgers' lead to 4-1. Hernandez had moved to third base after a double, and then advanced to home plate on a sacrifice bunt from Andy Pages. Ohtani's single marked his first hit and RBI of the NLCS.
This scoring play further solidified the Dodgers' advantage, with Ohtani also stealing second base in the process, showcasing his speed and agility on the basepaths.
Tommy Edman sealed the deal for the Dodgers, scoring Will Smith in the eighth inning to extend the lead to 5-1. Despite their best efforts, the Brewers couldn't muster a comeback, finishing the game hitless with runners in scoring position and managing only three hits.

The Dodgers' offense wasn't on fire, going 2-for-11, but it was enough to secure the win. Now, Milwaukee faces an uphill battle as the series shifts to Los Angeles for Game 3 on Thursday. The Dodgers are just two wins away from securing their spot in the World Series.
