Healy's commanding 142 off 107 balls, featuring 21 fours and three sixes, set the tone for Australia's chase. She shared crucial partnerships with Phoebe Litchfield and Ashleigh Gardner, helping Australia overcome a shaky middle phase.

Ellyse Perry played a crucial role in sealing the win, returning to the crease after retiring hurt and guiding Australia home with an unbeaten 47 alongside Kim Garth. Australia finished with six balls to spare, showcasing their batting prowess.

The record-breaking chase marked a significant milestone for Australia, who now top the points table with seven points from four matches. India, meanwhile, slipped to third place with four points after suffering their second consecutive defeat in the tournament.

Australia Takes the Top Spot
Australia's victory, their third in four matches, propelled them to the top of the standings. Meanwhile, hosts India slipped to third place after suffering their second consecutive defeat, having previously lost to South Africa.

Alyssa Healy's explosive batting set the tone for Australia's chase. She shared a quickfire opening partnership with Phoebe Litchfield and later a crucial stand with Ashleigh Gardner, who scored 45. Although Healy fell with 66 runs needed from 68 balls, her innings laid the foundation for Australia's win. Ellyse Perry, who had retired hurt with cramps, returned to the crease late in the innings and expertly guided Australia to victory.

“Really proud of the group. A little bit tight at the back end. We have been preaching about the depth in our line-up, the fact that we could chase 330 (proved it),” Healy said.

“Full credit to our bowlers for pulling it back; we could have been chasing 360-plus.

“I was trying to lock in for a big day. To contribute heavily was great, would have liked to stay a bit longer but the girls got the job done.”

Australia's record-breaking chase surpassed the previous highest successful ODI chase of 302 runs, set by Sri Lanka against South Africa in Potchefstroom, April 2024. This remarkable feat showcases Australia's exceptional batting prowess and solidifies their dominance in the tournament.

India's innings got off to a solid start, with Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal sharing a 155-run opening partnership. Mandhana scored 80 off 66 balls, while Rawal contributed 75. However, Australia's bowlers staged a dramatic comeback, with Annabel Sutherland claiming five wickets to trigger India's collapse. India lost nine wickets for just 138 runs, ultimately finishing with a total of 330.

Alyssa Healy's explosive century, her first as captain and third in the World Cup, proved decisive in Australia's victory. Shree Charani impressed for India with a respectable bowling figure of 3-41. Despite her efforts, Australia's batting lineup, led by Healy's brilliant knock, overcame the target with relative ease, showcasing their team's strength and depth.
