Perth Glory has parted ways with head coach David Zdrilic just two games into the new A-League season. The decision comes after a disappointing 4-0 loss to Melbourne City last weekend, which added to the pressure on Zdrilic.

Glory's season started with a promising 2-2 draw against Wellington Phoenix, but their overall form last season was poor, finishing bottom of the league with just four wins from 26 matches. Zdrilic's sacking was announced by the club late on Tuesday, effective immediately.
“Members of the existing support staff will take temporary charge of the team for Friday's home game against Melbourne Victory, and an announcement regarding the appointment of a new, permanent head coach will be made in due course,” Glory said in a statement.

David Zdrilic's tenure as Perth Glory's head coach was his first permanent role in charge at a professional level. Prior to this, he had gained experience as an assistant coach at Sydney FC and in Europe.
