VfL Wolfsburg confirms the signing of Christian Eriksen, bringing experience and leadership to the squad.

“I'm really looking forward to this new adventure. I am convinced that we can make a difference together in Wolfsburg...”

VfL Wolfsburg has officially confirmed the signing of Christian Eriksen on a two-year contract. According to the club's sports director, Sebastian Schindzielorz, “We are very happy that this opportunity has opened up for us at short notice.” Schindzielorz highlighted Eriksen's wealth of experience and top-notch quality, saying, “With Christian Eriksen, we are getting a player who has seen and experienced everything at the highest level. His enormous experience, his quality on the pitch, and his personality will give valuable impetus to our young players in particular.”

Eriksen chose Wolfsburg partly due to the presence of fellow Danish players in the squad, which he found particularly appealing. This move marks a significant addition to Wolfsburg's team, as Eriksen brings a high level of expertise and leadership to the field.

Christian Eriksen boasts an impressive resume in top-tier European competitions. With 310 Premier League appearances (55 goals, 81 assists), 43 Serie A games, and 53 Champions League matches, he has consistently performed at the highest level. His career highlights include a notable stint at Tottenham Hotspur (2013-2020), followed by spells at Inter Milan, Brentford FC, and Manchester United. Eriksen began his professional journey at Ajax Amsterdam during the 2009/2010 season, laying the foundation for his successful career.

Christian Eriksen is thrilled that the transfer is now complete and says:

“I'm really looking forward to this new adventure. I am convinced that we can make a difference together in Wolfsburg. The discussions with those responsible were very good. I immediately sensed that coach Paul Simonis had a clear idea for the team and also for me. The fact that there are many faces I know from the Danish national team in the squad makes VfL particularly attractive to me,“ said Eriksen.

Wolfsburg already has Andreas Skov Olsen, Jonas Wind, Adam Daghim, Jesper Lindstrom, and Joachim Maehle in the squad.
