Como dominated the match against Genoa, taking the lead in the 13th minute with a stunning strike from Nico Paz. Paz's impressive effort from 25 yards out gave Como the advantage, and they thought they were heading for a win. However, their lead was short-lived after Albert Fabregas's red card reduced Como to 10 men.


Genoa capitalized on the numerical disadvantage, and Caleb Ekuban scored a late equalizer for Patrick Vieira's side. The goal came moments after Fabregas's sending-off, earning Genoa a 1-1 draw. Despite being reduced to 10 men, Como held on for a point, with the result extending their unbeaten run.




Como had a great chance to double their lead when Niklas Kuhn was sent through by Megrim Vojvoda, but he hesitated and couldn't beat goalkeeper Nicola Leali from a tight angle. Alvaro Morata then missed an opportunity with a follow-up shot that went off target.


Genoa also threatened before halftime, with Lorenzo Colombo having a chance that was blocked in the area. Patrizio Masini then had a close-range effort saved by a brave block from young left-back Alex Valle, keeping Como's lead intact.


 

Como continued to press for a second goal, dominating possession and creating chances well into the second half. Megrim Vojvoda had a notable opportunity, forcing a crucial save from Nicola Leali with over 20 minutes remaining. However, Como's momentum was disrupted when Jacobo Ramon was sent off for a sliding challenge, reducing the hosts to 10 men.


The red card decision was upheld after a VAR review, and Genoa quickly capitalized on the advantage. Caleb Ekuban scored the equalizer, slamming home the rebound after Brooke Norton-Cuffy's initial shot was cleared off the line. The goal marked Genoa's first of the 2025-26 season, earning them a 1-1 draw.
