Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina has been sidelined with a hamstring injury he suffered while on international duty with Nigeria. The club confirmed the injury on Friday, but didn't specify how long he'll be out. Aina picked up the injury during Nigeria's 1-1 draw with South Africa in a World Cup qualifier on Tuesday. According to reports, he's expected to be out for three months, which would keep him sidelined until the end of the year.

“Everyone at the club sends their best wishes to Ola and wishes him a speedy recovery,” Nottingham Forest said in a statement. Aina's absence will be a significant blow to new manager Ange Postecoglou, who is aiming to make a strong start to his tenure at the City Ground. The versatile full-back has played every minute in the Premier League so far this season and his absence will be deeply felt.

Aina's injury has forced Nottingham Forest to make a squad reshuffle, with striker Taiwo Awoniyi expected to be registered for domestic action in his place. Postecoglou acknowledged Aina's injury, saying, “We've sent him for some scans and we'll get some information this afternoon.”
