The match was a thrilling contest of precise hitting from both players, with the world No. 1 showcasing her dominance under the Centre Court roof. Sabalenka's win keeps her bid for her first Wimbledon title on track.

The tournament has already seen a significant shake-up, with just four of the top 10 women's seeds and half of the men's top 10 remaining after just five days of play. Aryna Sabalenka, one of the top seeds still in contention, credited her win to her intense focus, saying, “I had to fight for every point like crazy.” Sabalenka, who has yet to advance beyond the semi-finals at Wimbledon, will look to push further in the tournament.

“I'm super happy with the win of course. I'm super happy to see her healthy and back on track. I'm pretty sure that she will be back in the top 10 soon”

Sabalenka pushed hard to seal the set, but Raducanu showed remarkable composure, saving all seven set points on her serve in a grueling 10th game. Raducanu seemed poised to take control, breaking Sabalenka in the next game, but the top seed's experience and skill kicked in, as she immediately broke back to keep the set alive.

A thrilling tie-break ultimately favored Sabalenka, who saved a set point and then delicately volleyed her way to winning the set. In the second set, Raducanu regained momentum, breaking Sabalenka in the fourth game and then holding serve to thunderous applause from the crowd.

Sabalenka, whose powerful grunts echoed under the roof, fought off a break point in the sixth game to keep her chances alive in the second set. Raducanu had an opportunity to build on her earlier break but couldn't capitalize, her forehand sailing long to gift Sabalenka a reprieve. The momentum shifted in Sabalenka's favor as she stepped up her game, striking a precise backhand down the line and following it up with a thunderous ace to level the set at 4-4.

Raducanu faced an uphill battle after Sabalenka broke her again in the next game, thanks to a couple of unforced errors.
