U21 Euros: Portugal's Convincing 5-0 Win Over Poland
Portugal dominated Poland 5-0 at the U21 Euros, with Geovany Quenda scoring and assisting in a standout performance.
Portugal secured their first UEFA European U21 Championship win with a 5-0 victory over Poland in Trencin. Geovany Quenda shone, contributing three first-half goals.
Quenda opened the scoring in the 16th minute, tapping home at the far post after Roger Fernandes' excellent work on the left flank.
Quenda and Fernandes combined again eight minutes later, with Quenda skillfully doubling Portugal's lead inside the box. He then set up captain Henrique Araujo with a perfectly timed through ball on the 30-minute mark.
Paulo Bernardo sealed the rout before halftime, benefiting from another excellent left-flank move between Fernandes and Flavio Nazinho.
Quenda's involvement ended at halftime as Rui Jorge made substitutions, potentially slowing Portugal's tempo.

The match ended quietly on a humid Slovakian evening, with Portugal securing a convincing win.
The victory propels Portugal above France in Group C, while Poland's third consecutive Group Stage exit is confirmed, with their final game still searching for a point.
