Jobe Bellingham Joins Borussia Dortmund in Club-Record Deal

Borussia Dortmund signs English midfielder Jobe Bellingham from Sunderland on a 5-year deal in a club-record transfer fee, following in the footsteps of his brother Jude Bellingham.

Jobe Bellingham has joined Borussia Dortmund from Sunderland on a five-year deal, the clubs announced on Tuesday. The English midfielder follows his brother Jude's path, signing for the Bundesliga team.

The transfer fee wasn't officially disclosed, but British media reported Dortmund would pay an initial fee of €33 million. Jobe will feature in the Club World Cup this month.

Sunderland confirmed the deal was a club-record fee, with a sell-on clause included in the agreement. Dortmund announced Jobe Bellingham has signed a five-year contract.

The reported €33 million fee would make Jobe Dortmund's second-biggest signing after Ousmane Dembele, who joined for €35 million in 2016.

Jobe Bellingham departs Sunderland after a two-year stint, during which the club secured promotion to the Premier League with a playoff final win over Sheffield United, finishing fourth in the Championship.

Jude Bellingham played for Dortmund for three seasons before joining Real Madrid in a €103 million deal. At Real Madrid, the England international won LaLiga and Champions League titles in his first season.
