Djokovic Sets Record with 19th French Open Quarterfinal Appearance

Novak Djokovic dominated Cameron Norrie 6-2, 6-3, 6-2, reaching a record 19th French Open quarterfinal. He'll face Alexander Zverev next.

Novak Djokovic dominated Cameron Norrie, securing a comfortable straight-sets victory to reach a record 19th French Open quarterfinal.

The three-time French Open champion will face third seed Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinals after winning 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 on Court Philippe Chatrier.

Novak Djokovic set a record for the most quarterfinal appearances at a single Grand Slam tournament, with 19 appearances at Roland Garros.

After his 100th French Open win, the 38-year-old said, “I feel good. I know I can play better. But 12 sets played, 12 sets won, it's been solid so far... It's great, but victory number 101 would be better. I'm very honoured... But I need to continue now.”

Novak Djokovic has a strong head-to-head record against Alexander Zverev, leading 8-5. However, their last encounter at the Australian Open semi-finals in January ended with Djokovic retiring due to injury.

Djokovic has dominated Britain's Cameron Norrie in their six career matches, winning every single one. Norrie, a former top-10 player now ranked 81st, couldn't capitalize on any opportunities against the Serb.

The Serbian tennis star dominated from the start in his match against Norrie, showcasing his determination to set a new outright record of 25 Grand Slam titles. His quarterfinal match against Alexander Zverev will be a test of his continued success.

Djokovic dominated the first set, breaking Norrie's serve three times to take a commanding lead. The second set was more competitive, but Djokovic showed his resilience by saving a crucial break point to hold for 3-2.

In the third set, Norrie struggled to mount any significant resistance, and Djokovic sealed the win on his first match point. This marked a milestone for Norrie, who was playing in the second week of the tournament in Paris for the first time.

He broke serve three times in a one-sided opening set, before battling through a closer second, crucially saving a break point before holding for a 3-2 lead.

Norrie, playing in the second week in Paris for the first time, mustered little resistance in the third set as Djokovic wrapped up victory on his first match point.
