After the crash, Tsunoda was taken to the circuit's medical center for precautionary checks. The Japanese driver later apologized to his team and fans, attributing the incident to losing control of the car. Despite the setback, Tsunoda is expected to start the race, albeit from the back of the grid, with his team working overnight to repair the extensive damage to his vehicle.

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner prioritized Tsunoda's well-being, stating, “The main thing is [Yuki]'s fine. Cars you can replace and repair, but drivers and their well-being are the most important thing.” Max Verstappen, Tsunoda's teammate, qualified second, just a tenth of a second behind Oscar Piastri.
Yuki Tsunoda's car suffered a severe crash, careening off the track and violently hitting the tire wall at turn five. The impact lifted the car into the air, causing it to flip before landing upside down on its roll hoop, and then miraculously righting itself.
Tsunoda emerged from the wreckage unharmed, a relieved reaction coming over the team radio from his former teammate Liam Lawson, who exclaimed, “Oh my god! I just saw the video. Is he OK?”
"I'm okay, thankfully"
