Tottenham's Maddison Out for the Season?

Tottenham's James Maddison suffers a knee injury that could rule him out for the rest of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur's manager Ange Postecoglou fears that James Maddison's season might be over due to a significant knee injury sustained during the Europa League semi-final win against Bodo/Glimt. Maddison was replaced by Dejan Kulusevski in the 65th minute of the game and has since undergone a scan on his knee. The results, expected within 24 hours, will confirm the extent of the injury.

Maddison's absence would be a significant blow to Tottenham's chances of winning the Europa League and finishing the season strong. He has made 45 appearances this season, scoring 12 goals and providing 11 assists. With Maddison likely out, Postecoglou will have to rely on other players to fill the gap, including Kulusevski, who could be a like-for-like replacement. Tottenham's upcoming games include the Europa League semi-final second leg against Bodo/Glimt and three Premier League matches against Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, and Brighton & Hove Albion.

James Maddison missed Tottenham's 1-1 draw at West Ham due to a knee injury and is not expected to play again this season, according to TalkSPORT sources close to the Spurs management.

After the draw, Ange Postecoglou expressed concern over Maddison's injury, saying: “It doesn't look great, but we're just waiting for further information. We'll just wait and see. Hopefully we'll probably get some clarity tomorrow. It's fair to say it doesn't look promising but I'll just wait and see.”
