Rob Couhig's Redwood Holdings Completes Reading FC Acquisition
Reading FC is under new ownership after Rob Couhig's Redwood Holdings completed its acquisition, ending Dai Yongge's controversial era.
Reading FC has been taken over by Redwood Holdings Limited, a company led by Rob Couhig, former owner of Wycombe Wanderers. The English Football League confirmed the change in ownership on Wednesday, marking the end of a tumultuous period for the club.
The takeover brings to a close Dai Yongge's ownership era, which was marred by controversy. Yongge was ordered to sell the Championship club in March after failing to meet the EFL's owners' and directors' test, ultimately leading to his disqualification.

Dai Yongge was initially given until April 4 to complete the sale of Reading FC, but the English Football League granted two extensions to the deadline. The club finally agreed terms with Redwood Holdings Limited on May 3, paving the way for the takeover.
“Over recent weeks the league has worked closely with all parties to facilitate a timely transfer of ownership in order to end the uncertainty surrounding the club's future for its staff, supporters and wider community,” the EFL said.
“We look forward to working closely with the new ownership group and wish the club and its supporters a successful future following a difficult period for all associated with the club.”
Dai Yongge, who acquired Reading FC in 2017, faced criticism from fans for the club's struggles. Last season, Reading was penalized with a six-point deduction for financial mismanagement. The club also faced financial difficulties that forced them to withdraw from the Women's Championship.
On the pitch, Reading's performance was lackluster, finishing seventh in League One, just one spot shy of Leyton Orient, who secured the final playoff position.
