Max Verstappen Withdraws from Media to Await Baby's Birth

Max Verstappen skips media commitments at the Miami Grand Prix due to the imminent arrival of his first child with partner Kelly Piquet.

Max Verstappen has withdrawn from media duties at the Miami Grand Prix as his partner, Kelly Piquet, is expecting their first child. The 27-year-old Formula 1 driver will likely prioritize this personal milestone amid his racing commitments.

Kelly Piquet, daughter of triple world champion Nelson Piquet, already has a daughter from her previous relationship with Daniil Kvyat. Verstappen's focus will be on supporting her as they await the birth of their child.

Max Verstappen won't be attending media duties at the Miami Grand Prix as his partner, Kelly Piquet, is expecting their first child. However, a team spokesman assured that all is well and Verstappen will be at the track tomorrow for the race weekend.

The Dutch driver's absence from media day doesn't affect his participation in the Grand Prix. Friday's schedule includes a single practice session, followed by sprint qualifying, a 100km sprint race, and regular qualifying on Saturday. The main race will take place on Sunday around the Hard Rock Stadium.

Verstappen currently ranks third in the championship standings, trailing Oscar Piastri, the Australian leader, by 12 points. Despite the personal milestone, Verstappen has expressed that becoming a father won't change his racing mindset.
