Jamie Vardy is confident that Leicester City will thrive despite his departure. The 38-year-old striker marked his final game with a milestone, scoring his 200th goal for the club in a 2-0 win over Ipswich Town.

Vardy expressed his enduring love for the Foxes, stating that the club will always remain close to his heart. His impressive career with Leicester came to an end after 13 seasons, leaving a lasting legacy.

Jamie Vardy, signed from Fleetwood Town for £1 million in 2012, became Leicester's greatest player of the modern era, famously leading the Foxes to the 2015-16 Premier League title.

When asked about Leicester's future without him, Vardy said, “They'll be fine. We've got a good squad and young players coming through. Football is mentally tough, and I'm glad I'm not having to go through it all again.” Vardy will continue to support the club he loves from afar.

In his final match, Vardy received a heartfelt tribute from his teammates and fans, who gave him a guard of honor and a standing ovation when he was substituted in the 80th minute.

Vardy expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the fans, saying, “From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking myself and my family in as your own. I hope I've repaid you.”

Leicester manager Ruud van Nistelrooy praised Vardy, stating, “If you score your 200th goal on your 500th appearance, then you are a great one. Vardy has been a unique player and person for this football club.”

Van Nistelrooy added, “In the years to come we will realise we were part of this moment. He's a character as well, there's a story and an edge to him. He's a great captain”

Leicester's next match is against Bournemouth, but Vardy will not be part of the lineup, as previously confirmed by the club. His final game for Leicester remained the 2-0 win over Ipswich Town.
