Swiatek's sights are set on a historic achievement: becoming the first woman in the professional era since 1968 to win four consecutive French Open titles. With her commanding performance, she takes a significant step toward her goal. Next, she'll face either Sara Bejlek or Jaqueline Cristian in the third round.
“I just wanted to play my game,” Swiatek said. “I felt good on court. I thought I can do what I had planned to, adjust to the conditions because it was windy. I am happy that I did that well and I am through.

Well…
That sure looked a lot more like the Iga we’re used to seeing.
Building points like a tactician.
Moving impeccably well.

“Probably the top spin that I play,” she said when asked about the reason for her success on the Parisian clay. “I love playing here. This place inspires me and makes me work harder. I am just ready to fight for it and compete.”
Emma Raducanu briefly held her own against Iga Swiatek at the start of their match, but the Polish star soon asserted her dominance. Swiatek initially struggled, racking up eight unforced errors in the first three games. However, she regrouped and broke Raducanu twice to swiftly take the first set 6-1, setting the tone for the rest of the match.
Swiatek continued her dominance in the second set, breaking Raducanu early and maintaining her advantage. Despite Raducanu's efforts, which included three break opportunities when trailing 2-1, the Briton couldn't capitalize on them. As Swiatek kept up the pressure, Raducanu's struggles persisted, exacerbated by illness that had affected her earlier in the week. Ultimately, Swiatek sealed the win with a stunning backhand down the line on her second match point, closing out the match 6-1, 6-2.
