Girona snapped its 11-match winless streak with a 1-0 win over Mallorca, thanks to Cristhian Stuani's early goal.



Girona has finally broken its 11-match winless streak, thanks to a crucial 1-0 win over RCD Mallorca. This hard-fought victory has lifted them six points clear of the relegation zone, providing much-needed breathing room.


Cristhian Stuani was the hero of the match, scoring the solitary goal that earned Girona the win. After going three months without a victory, Girona's players were under immense pressure, but Stuani's goal seemed to pull the ripcord, halting their free-falling slide towards relegation.


Girona found an early breakthrough in their match against Mallorca, thanks to their all-time LaLiga goalscorer Cristhian Stuani. A long ball down the left wing created confusion in Mallorca's defense, and Stuani capitalized on the opportunity. After Ivan Martin's initial shot was blocked, Stuani picked up the loose ball and scored with a powerful shot from eight yards out, giving Girona the lead after just 10 minutes.

The second half saw Girona maintain their dominance, with Yangel Herrera consistently finding space on the edge of the box. Herrera's shot on target was impressively saved by Mallorca goalkeeper Dominik Greif, mirroring Paulo Gazzaniga's heroics for Girona earlier in the match.


Greif continued to make crucial saves, denying Girona further goals. He stopped shots from Viktor Tsyhankov and Portu, showcasing his exceptional goalkeeping skills and keeping Mallorca in the game despite Girona's pressure.


Despite a late push, Mallorca lacked the quality to secure a point, leaving them level on points with Osasuna and Rayo Vallecano in the battle for European football next season.


In contrast, Girona's home fans celebrated a crucial step toward survival, ending an 11-match winless streak. The victory brought much-needed relief, overshadowing their earlier European aspirations.
