Usyk-Dubois Rematch: Undisputed Heavyweight Title on the Line


Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois set for a rematch on July 19 at Wembley Stadium for the undisputed heavyweight title.



Oleksandr Usyk is set to face Daniel Dubois in a rematch on July 19 at Wembley Stadium. The winner will become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.


“I'm ready right now,” Usyk, 36 was not the age mentioned however 38, said at a press conference, addressing his upcoming fight. Usyk still holds the WBC, WBA, and WBO titles after beating Tyson Fury last year, while Dubois has since won the IBF belt.




Don Charles, Daniel Dubois's trainer, criticized Oleksandr Usyk, saying, “You conned the referee, you conned us, you conned the boxing world.” Charles jokingly suggested Usyk deserved an acting Oscar for his performance in their previous fight.


Usyk responded with a smile, “You must teach your fighter to punch clean.” He downplayed Charles's comments, saying, “It's just talking. For me it doesn't matter. It's my road. Blah, blah, blah. I respect all my opponents.”


Promoter Alex Krassyuk believes Oleksandr Usyk remains hungry for success, promising a new display of skills. “The world will see a version of Usyk that you have never seen before. No more controversies, no more question marks,” Krassyuk said.


Manager Egis Klimas defended Usyk against cheating allegations, saying, “Don't call my man a cheat. He didn't cheat. He had an opportunity to rest and he rested... tell it to the referee, not my man,” referencing the disputed low blow in their previous fight.
